Maps and journey's development 2

Before our meeting with Rosie we sat down together to come up with ideas about what to do with all our projects and how to theme them as well as have a good piece of installation art that includes each aspect of our previous idea. Below are the list of themes that we came across when looking into maps and journeys with hopes of inspiring us.

  • Using the Kinect to walk through an area and have choices of where to go
  • Evolution of mysterious instruments - sound journey - use instruments - earth, wind, water and fire
  • Sat Nav - take to different places - Google maps - but options for life
  • Migration
  • Passion Pit - Take a Walk
  • Spiritual journey - cult life
  • Evolution of something - music - film - art
  • Giant Marauders map - phone gps - number
  • Hyperlapse - Flow motion - Rob Whitworth
  • Stars or space
  • Childhood - Disneyworld Paris
  • Abandoned places - why - deterioration

After a meeting with Rosie we discussed how we were going to pull off our installation piece. Suggesting some of the themes in the list we came up with the idea on doing a Choose your own Adventure style game, which you control with your body movements and have interactive stages. For example, using the butterfly effect to see who choose which direction.

Rosie's feedback:
The group seem to be struggling. We discussed a Random Journey Game that may incorporate ideas from all three groups member: Senses act as signpost, butterfly effect – what does it trigger, how many routes, where do you end up, how many endings or not?

  1. Concerned about your input in the group project as there is nothing documented on your blog. What have you been doing? It is essential that you document your individual contribution to this work.
