Sound Idea!

Image: Tracey Emin's, My bed

Her personal life, her dirty bed

Sound: My bedroom

My life, noises I'm used too

E.g. listening to music, playing games, on my laptop, etc.

She's showing her personal life that you don't see, in an image. I'm sharing my personal life with sound.

Picture Research!

Tracey Emin's: My Bed

I did some research into the image to reveal some personal information about her.

Known for her confessional art, Tracey Emin reveals intimate details from her life to engage the viewer with her expressions of universal emotions. Her ability to integrate her work and personal life enables Emin to establish an intimacy with the viewer.

Tracey shows us her own bed, in all its embarrassing glory. Empty booze bottles, fag butts, stained sheets, worn panties: the bloody aftermath of a nervous breakdown. By presenting her bed as art, Tracey Emin shares her most personal space, revealing she’s as insecure and imperfect as the rest of the world.

Photography Development!

Final Idea!

I will gather old family photos that include me in an important or memorable situation however i will burn out certain things or people that I don't remember.
To give it authenticity I will burn the edges as well to give it a more decaying memory look.

Time treatment part 2!

Effects

Instead of making the after effects process too complicated I can just blend the old image on the current footage. I'll keep the old images in black and white then morph in the new footage over the things that have changed, which will then be in colour so you can see the comparison.

The life of the film, movement of the surroundings.

Using both photoshop and after effects

Techniques: blending, overlaying, colouring and fading

Equipment

I can use my canon 650D though I may need to use a microphone to get clear sound (background sound).

Location

Midhurst, a small town in West Sussex that still holds it's vintage background, yet has clearly been enhanced from our development.

Time Art Development!

Message!

"History is the study of change. Change is life. When things become static, it means they're dead,"

The people and objects in this world are changing and developing fast, so we change our surrounds to enhance that.

So I am showing the development of the town I lived in by looking back at archive photos and morphing them with present day footage of the town.

Research

Ruins are another structure that drew me towards to the idea of abandoned places as they are virtually the same thing. They both have a sort of history behind them.

Certain places that inspires this project as well as my photography outside of uni:

Angkor wat

Chernobyl

Colosseum

Valley of the Kings

Trust me it's great to work with.

Abandoned Places Photography

This is a lot of my inspiration and hope for what the areas/locations will look like.

Then from there I shall rebuild them.

Lighting

Colour and source of lighting and the effects it has on the human face.

Very good for future references, specially colour wise for mood lighting.
