Time Ideas No.3!

Time Lapse

This idea had been done a lot but instead I want to show the effect of time on different things, such as a bunch of flowers surrounded by fake ones, preferably different colour to the real ones, then have a sundial to show true time. Lastly have a globe with ice on top slowly melting while a ring around the equator burns.

I'll use this technique to show time in multiples ways and the way it effects different objects such as death, melting or movement.

Time Ideas No.2!

Reconstruction

This idea came from my fascination with old abandon buildings. There unknown story ready to be told but hidden under it's creep, crumbling exterior that ward people away from it. This urge to uncover old ruins probably cam from my Tomb Raider days on the PS1.

Anyway, my objective for this idea is to find 3 old abandoned buildings with most of the structure still standing. Then research into them to find if there history is interesting then look for there previous structure and then reconstruct them in after effects. The one minute loop will be of them fade or forming into the old form and then reforming back into the old broken down building.

Message for this is, over time things decay even buildings that might were of great importance and even though now it looks intimidating, we should remember things in there prime and listen to the story that they tell rather then flee at the sight of them.

Time Ideas No.1!

Transport!
Transport runs on time itself. If you mention travelling, the conversation quickly changes to "what time are you leaving? what are the times?"
Where I am located at the moment, I am very close to the train and bus station as well as a busy road so I can see the chaos of rush hour as cars beep their way home with everyone else. And the herd of people in suits flooding off the buses and trains.

One screen will be a train or multiple trains leaving and arriving at the station, one with a traffic jam or rush hour and the other will be buses coming and going.
The message is that everyone today is too busy and is impatient. A lot of travel is late which everyone complains about because of people needing to be on time or doing things.

The idea of this is too represent the busyness in our lives today. Nothing runs slowly or smoothly anymore. Also that everyone's life has the same routine. All day, all month, all year. But we don't really see it ourselves as we are normally part of the crowd. I want to show people there lives from and outsiders perspective.

Newspaper clippings!

Yes this is very random and silly, I agree however we did our task and even added some images to help guide the work along.
Our task was to get into pairs and look through a newspaper and then create, either a story or some sort of sentences. So my partner and I created new headlines from the ones we already had.

We learnt how to structure a new sentences from old, therefore constructing new stories. This was a kind of practice for when we write screenplays and scripts for our own work.

Ad!

We had to make an 1 minute video about commercials and put some message behind it.

My message was why and how stupid people are in commercials.

Diary part 3!

Day 8:
Photographing my friends band on New Years was great fun, shame the lighting and the positioning of the band was wrong, so I couldn't get many good images.

Day 9:
Not much really happened a part from being able to finally rest and enjoy my time off.

Day 10:
Early start so I could get the train back and get to work on time. I shall miss my friends but I shan't miss the scary flat lands that seem to stop suddenly.

Nice and quick ride on the way home, shame the weather the awful and I had work to go to. :)

Diary part 2!

Day 5:
I arrived a the station and was a little too early as i had to wait a goo 45 mins before the train came. However I made it to London with ease, it's what came next that brought the butterflies.

THE UNDERGROUND!!

The many lines and stations...
Filled with people who know where they're going...
And possibly the odd famous person, which made it harder to navigate as I tried to spot them out whilst not getting lost. In the end I ended up following the herd as they seemed to know better then I did and IT WORK!! :D

Then there was the long wait through the flat lands of norfolk to reach my destination.

Day 6:
After the long day of travelling it feels good to rest, however there are people to meet and images to capture! busy busy busy :3

Designing!

So yeah, making this blog look nice wasn't as easy as I thought.

Got the colour down now, trying to go with the feel of Winter, you know a nice cool blue make it a bit chilly. Anyways, I also tried to make witty references with time by using the gadget things but that made it look cheap and filled it with free ad shit, so I'm gonna leave those off and you can deal with the chilly blue background!

Time!

    Greetings followers/viewers!

Welcome to my humble little blog which will soon become deep in confuse knowledge about time.

Yes, that's right! You heard me correctly, this is the start of my Time project so prepare for random things about time.

And hopefully you'll stay tuned and follow the progress to the finished product and maybe learn a thing or two about time, who knows. Enjoy! :D

Diary part 1!

To the Place where land is flat

Day 1:

I’ve received this strange invitation from a courier today, saying that a local lad in King’s Lynn, up in the Norfolk Lands, wants to meet with me. I know this fellow but to journey there in such a short notice, IMPOSSIBLE!

Day 2:

After some careful thought and my old adventuring days bugging at me, I have decided to take on this challenge and reach he’s Inn within a couple of days. I will truly feel for my horse by the end of the trip.

Day 4:

Finally, after a day of planning and packing, I’m ready to head out. Wish me luck!

Brief!

My brief was to memorialise something for the future in 3 different ways and anyway I like.

So over the holiday's I went up to Norfolk to meet a couple of friends and made more while I was there, GREAT! But I became stuck with this task as I didn't have all of my equipment ready at hand, it was all at home. However, my love for the game Skyrim brought me to make this the way it is.

Just as brief for people who haven't played Skyrim or don't know of it:

Basically it's a game that features a giant area for you to explore at you own accord and is set around the time of swords and shields in a Nordic fashion.

Welcome!

I know it's a bit late starting this, however it's hard to upload things when you're moving and your new flat has no internet. FUN!

ANYWAYS, i'll be posting my progress on my project.

The first few parts will be of a task received from my tutor over the christmas holidays. Where I had to memorialise something, so I decided to do my scary journey to Norfolk but in a style that isn't bland and was a lot of fun.

Enjoy! :D
