And now for my final sound project...

Our first day of using a Zoom hand held audio recorder. Amy and I went out to get some general outside noise of Farnham.

Sound Evaluation!

I am really proud of my Sound work as I created it into a rhythmic piece, a lot like Matthew Herbert's, One Pig album.


However i f I had more time, I would have re-recorded the sounds to make them clearer and reduce the static background noise. This would have made it easier to pick sounds for specific instruments, such as the bass drum or something with melody to it. Also I could have made the song longer, possibly stretching it too the 2 minute limit as then it could of had more lays of sound to it. Giving it a more fleshed out feel and sound a bit thicker and not so empty.

Experimental Sound Development!

Development of my experimental sound.

Make the experience more jarring and out there. E.g make every noise loud and stand out. Overlay them so it's a loud noise but in a musical manner. Of course they're going to be noises of my room, like what I do in it (play PlayStation, watch TV, type on laptop) that resembles me. This makes it personal like Tracey's image.

Tracey Emin's: My Bed

I did some research into the image to reveal some personal information about her.

Known for her confessional art, Tracey Emin reveals intimate details from her life to engage the viewer with her expressions of universal emotions. Her ability to integrate her work and personal life enables Emin to establish an intimacy with the viewer.

Tracey shows us her own bed, in all its embarrassing glory. Empty booze bottles, fag butts, stained sheets, worn panties: the bloody aftermath of a nervous breakdown. By presenting her bed as art, Tracey Emin shares her most personal space, revealing she’s as insecure and imperfect as the rest of the world.

Experimental Sound!

For my experimental sound project I have been given an image, which I had no input in choosing, in which I have to sound to. 

Now that sound can be in the form of a journey, a passage of time, a narrative theme or the place. 

I have been given Tracey Emins, My Bed (1998) as shown below.

There has been a lot of thinking around this and at how/what I'm do. 

Maybe I could combine them all together. Somehow mange to tell a story or the life of someone as I describe the place they are located in, the bed. 

Of course these are just some rough ideas which I hope I can piece together well.
